About Deena
Deena is a Qualified Registered Kinesiology Practitioner and Reiki practitioner who through her sessions aims to arouse and motivate her clients to reach their full potential and assist them in clearing any inhibiting blocks.
A fascination with the mind body connection and its many properties led Deena to become interested in the study and eventual practice of Kinesiology.
Her earlier career had involved work in travel and with non-profit organisations, during which time she gained immense satisfaction from helping others. However, it was her passion for learning about the body and mind, that eventually resulted in Deena pursuing a career in the alternative health industry and in particular, Kinesiology.
Deena loves that as a Kinesiologist, she can incorporate principles from a wide range of alternative health practices such as Chinese medicine principles, essential oils, flower essences and colour therapy.
She is enthusiastic about utilising her knowledge of Kinesiology to assist her clients to recognise what’s holding them back, on a physical or emotional level and help them reach their goals.
Deena believes that Kinesiology can provide practical tools to her clients, which when utilised effectively, can contribute to improvements in their overall wellbeing.
About Kinesiology
Kinesiology taps into the subconscious mind to clear any stress in the body, this may be emotional, physical, mental or spiritual.
Kinesiology is a non-invasive practice that uses muscle-monitoring techniques to identify imbalances and blockages in the body. Kinesiology focuses on clearing the source of the issue and not just removing the symptoms.
Your body knows at some unconscious level what it requires to achieve its optimal health and wellbeing. Through muscle testing the conscious mind is evaded to go deeper and find the most appropriate technique needed at the time to clear a particular issue. These techniques may include some of the following which may be used during your session:
- Using Chinese pressure points
- Essential oils
- Sound bowls and chimes
- Tuning forks
- Colour therapy techniques and tools
- Eliminating or introducing food
- Mantras
- Visualisation work
- Chakra balancing work
About your Kinesiology session
Through discussion and a specific questionnaire information will be collated to form a profile of your life and set goals and objectives will be determined.
You will then lie on a massage table fully clothed. Muscle monitoring will be used to identify blockages in the body on any level and the best way to clear these so that your body is balanced and working at its full potential. All techniques are subtle and painless.
At the end of the session when the agreed goal has been met tasks are often given which are to be completed at home to reinforce the goal. These could be mantra’s, elimination or introduction of foods, daily use of essential oils.
The first session is around 1.5 hours and follow up sessions are around 1 hour.
About Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique to promote healing, reduce stress and promote relaxation. It assists in raising a persons life force energy flow which if it is low causes sickness and stress but if at its optimal level enables a person to be happier, healthier and more energetic.
About your Reiki session
In a Reiki session energy flows from the practitioner’s hands into the client. The client remains fully clothed and usually lies on a massage table but treatments can also be given while the client is seated or even standing. The practitioner places their hands on the client’s body in a series of hand positions, these include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach and feet. Each position is held for around three minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position. Other positions are also introduced if the client has specific needs. The whole session usually lasts about an hour.
